Join us at our August (8/23) meeting to hear Dr. Theresa Stahlman, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Duval County public schools. Dr Stahlman will highlight some of the trends and challenges of managing information and communication technology resources within a school district serving approximately 125,000 students and more than 14,000 employees.

In particular, hear about the challenge of supporting both PC-based and Mac-based users in a complex educational environment. Dr Stahlman has been the CTO since early 2006, and prior to her current appointment, has served as a
regional superintendent, principal, and teacher in Duval County public schools, and an adjunct at the University of North Florida (UNF) in educational leadership. Dr Stahlman earned her BA and MA from the University of Florida, and earned her doctorate from University of North Florida.

Dr. David Lambert is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at the University of North Florida (UNF), and is recognized as an expert in Geographic Information Systems, and their application to business, governmental, and environmental problems. In this dinner meeting, Dr. Lambert will present one of his high-profile projects aimed at the development of an intelligent road weather information system for Florida. He has directed several other projects relating to the design of emergency and disaster management systems, which resulted in three U.S.

Using only a web browser and limited programming experience, you can develop and deploy professional applications that are both fast and secure. Purpose: This event is targeted at students planning to attend the AITP National Collegiate Conference in Memphis this upcoming week. During this two hour workshop, students will be exposed to the Associate Computing Professional (ACP) certification exam. The workshop will provide an overview of the core exam components and highlight many of the specialty exams that are suitable for students to complete. This workshop should supplement your education to better prepare you to pass the certification. To attend this event, you only need to come to the UNF campus at the date specified.
